Media Madness
Richard speaks! Jason speaks! Lawrence Frank speaks!
Ah, Media Day, the start of the official basketball season. With the team dinner this evening, and camp opening tomorrow morning, look for all sorts of news from all sorts of places on the Nets attempt to find respectibility. Or did they cover that today?
Anyway, the news out of camp on el Dia De Los Media was mostly positive - RJ's ankle is a "non-issue", Jason Kidd says there will be no days off in the Eastern Conference, Nenad is the key but he'll have to take it slow at first, Marcus is going to be out until likely mid-to-late December, and all is good.
Oh, and the Nets will take a look at Darrel Armstrong (who's 39, friends) and and when he's waived by Indy, which is expected tomorrow. He'll cost but he'll likely be the veteran backup that actually fits what the Nets are tying to do, even at his advanced age.
Dan Dickau will likely be bought out of his contract with the Knicks, now that they've traded for Jared Jordan. Does anything this Knick team does make sense? So maybe Dickau's a potential as well. Not sure that he'd fit, but for 10 minutes a game, he's capable.
One last thing - the Allan Houston watch drags on longer than an episode of Caveman, but he's said to be inching ever closer to the Nets. We'll see about that.
Tomorrow - meet the hopefuls and wannabes at Nets camp.
