No Jones-ing It

No suprise Jumaine Jones was cut, he was a victim of numbers up front, and while he probably would have made this team last season, the combined weight of an up-and-coming center (Krstic), a defensive need (Collins), a physical widebody (Magloire), two recent first round picks (Boone and Sean Williams) and a free agent pickup who plays defense and can make a shot (Malik Allen) doomed Jones.

Hope you find another team.

In other news, the Nets beat the Celtics tonight in a game that a) featured the Big Green Three on the sidelines and b) well, I didn't see much if any of the game, so I don't even know what b could be. Antoine Wright had a nice second half along with Boki Nachbar, as Thornski struggles whether or not to pick up Antoine's option before the season or risk losing him at the end of the season as a free agent (I say take the risk). Jason Kidd again didn't play, VC apparently played some backup point guard, and even Mateen Cleaves chipped in 10 late points (Good luck Mateen in any case).

One other oddity - RJ had 6 fouls tonight?

More tomorrow as we start sorting through the roster.

Joe
