Timberwolves (41 - 16) - Wednesday, February 25, 2004, 8:00pm EST - Target
Center Wolf In Wolf's Clothing When you've had as many "one and done" playoff performances as the Wolves have had over the years, despite having Kevin Garnett, you deserve the nickname "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing". No more, friends, no more. They're loaded with talent, they're getting healthy (with G Wally Szczerbiak and C Michael Olowokandi coming off the IR recently) and they're winning (third best record in the league, behind Sacramento and Indiana), making the case for having staying power in this year's playoffs. Both teams are playing the second game of a back-to-back (Minnesota beat the Bucks), but the Wolves are 21 - 7 on their home court, while the Nets are 15 - 12 on the road. Oh yeah - more motivation - the Nets held the Wolves to their lowest point total ever back on Halloween night in an 84 - 61 drubbing. Can the Nets prove this 14 game winning streak (and 13 straight under L. Frank) is for real against the quality offered by the Wolves? Or will those Wolves bite the Nets' streak on the ass? - Joe Minnesota Timberwolves Cheat Sheet The Story from Minneapolis: Even Kevin Garnett is impressed with the TWolves. Here's his quote after Minnesota destroyed the Suns back on February 17: "I think we're very, very scary." Pain Game: F Ndudi Ebi (knee) is on injured reserve. G Sam Cassell (thumb) is probable.
