Milwaukee
Bucks (21 - 17) - Thursday, January 15, 2004, 8:00PM EST - Bradley Center Buck Shot Lookout New Jersey, the Bucks are on the hunt. Milwaukee has been on fire since beating the Nets back on December 20, winning 5 of their last 6 and 9 of their last 12 and leading the Eastern Conference in scoring at 95.4 ppg (surprisingly, that puts them ninth in the NBA...the first 8 teams are all from the Western Conference. Shameful, folks). Sharpshooting guard Michael Redd leads the shooting spree with a 21.6 PPG average, which puts him 10th in the NBA, and he's getting a lot of help from Tim Thomas, Desmond Mason and Toni Kukoc. Now, defensively, the young Bucks have a ways to go, but as long as they score more than they give up, the wins will continue to come. Can the return of defensive stopper Kenyon Martin from his two game suspension help the Nets keep Bucks on ice? Or will Milwaukee lay some collateral damage on Kidd and Co.? - Joe Milwaukee Bucks Cheat Sheet The Story From Milwaukee: How is that Milwaukee "D"? Here's coach Terry Porter, according to Tom Enlund (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel): "Average." He continues: "We don't have a major, major shot blocker. We don't have that. We don't have a Bruce Bowen kind of guy who can just stop somebody. Like I've said from Day 1, since our individual defense may not be as good as we'd like, our team defense has to be solid. That's what we've tried to stress, that our team defense be solid. Everybody is trying their best as far as individuals but more importantly when somebody does break down, the next teammate is there to help out." Pain Game: F Dan Langhi (ankle) and C Joe; Przybilla (knee) are on injured reserve.
