Lucious Harris – G
Known For: Outside shot, toughness, instant offense off the bench, that damned Phantom of the Opera mask, the player for whom the term "Palacio'd" was coined.

The Real Deal: One of the leaders of the reserve squad, along with Aaron Williams. Harris' trademark is offense when entering the game, but he's also become a decent defender as well. Harris, like Kittles, can be deadly from outside while being inconsistent, but unlike Kittles Harris is a threat to drive in the lane or post up smaller guards. "Loosh" could start for many NBA teams, and his veteran presence and savvy is something the Nets count on. Harris is counted on to back up Jason Kidd at times as well, playing with Kerry Kittles at times in the no point guard offense (at least until Zoran Planinic gets up to speed).

Joe's Update: Veteran player, or just old by NBA standards? Loosh's game was a study in contrasts between the two halves of the season last year. In the first half, he was nothing short of sensational, especially as a starter when replacing the injured Kerry Kittles. In the second half, he seemed a step slow and half-a-beat off somehow, and the results were quite obvious.
The Nets were looking for outside shooting in the offseason, with Harris being a free agent, and after signing Kidd and Mourning, it looked like the end for Loosh as a Net. But, when you consider the chemistry the team has, and Harris' effect on the second teamers, how could the Nets not sign him? He's the glue, along with Aaron Williams, and he's stuck to Netsfans hearts and Nets' management's wallets. But, can he make some outside shots and show Netsfans the love?
