#30 Kerry Kittles |
Kerry
Kittles G Known For: Deadly but streaky outside shooting, three point threat, athleticism, defensive presence, one of Jason Kidd's fast break partners, tendency to disappear for games at a time. The Real Deal: Still the Nets most deadly shooter when in the zone, Kittles has seen more streakin' than anyone who grew up in the 1960's. Up-and-down could be his middle name, because he tends to not be aggressive, or only become aggressive for short bursts. One of the craftiest defensive stoppers, Kittles lead the league in steals to turnover ratio last year. Runs the fast break with Kidd better than anyone, including Jefferson and Martin, and seems to have a knack for burying teams with a barrage of threes. If only he didn't disappear... Joe's Update: The Nets' medical miracle could be their most important player in 2003 - 2004, since they have a multitude of people to do everything else but shoot from outside. If his knees can handle it, Kittles may have to play more, just so that he can shoot more off the expected double-teams that Mourning or Martin will get inside. Streaky is ok, Kerry - but MIA is definitely not. If he can be more aggressive, he solves the Nets' need for outside shooting. If not, it'll be up to Lucious Harris, Rodney Rogers and anyone else who proves they can make them. Will he be the Shooting Star, or the Invisible Man? Kerry Kittles stats and bio: click here.
