Special - At The All Star Break Report - February 18, 2004
Test Of Strength
New! What a long, strange carnival it's been, Netsfans. Since we last checked in, the team was sold to carnies and is supposed to move to Brooklyn, Byron Scott hit the dunk tank, and the team lost, then won. The Numbers Don't Add Up
Lost in the pile of unopened mail dating back to the middle of December (oh boy, what a Backlash that will make...) was this gem from our man SwampDragon2, about the state of the NBA. With scoring and shooting down the toilet this year, is the NBA getting 'dumbed down?" The Dragon looks at the numbers...
Special - First Quarter Report - December 31, 2003
Double Down
With the first quarter the Nets just had, GM Rod Thorn has to be thinking about joining Gamblers' Anonymous. Thorn placed some huge bets in the off-season to try to keep Jason Kidd in town, and the two time Eastern Conference Champs on the road to a third consecutive crown. The results were, shall we say, not much more than a push...Joe looks at the first quarter odds, and lays down some card tricks to come for the Nets. Try to remember way back to the first quarter...

2003 - 2004 Central Division Preview
Larry Brown or Larry Bird? In the Central Division, it's likely going to be one legend or the other leading either the Pistons or the Pacers to glory. Unlike the Western Conference, where the strong eat the weak, it's almost anyone's game in the East, where aside from New Jersey and Detroit, everyone else is guilty until proven innocent....Read on...

The Name Game
Updated!! A new season brings a new crop (ok, probably only two) of players, and a new bunch of player nicknames. Last season's "Write the Nets Nicknames" contest was so successful that we're going to do it again. Think of any great nicknames over the summer break? Got any ideas for "Zo" and "Zoran"? Email them to Joe, and we'll post them on the newly created page...

That's The New Jersey Nets
They're called the New Jesery Nets for a reason. Hands off, says Mark Ciocco in our latest installment of Your View. He wonders why the Nets would move to New York, when NY already has a team (that sucks, by the way). Is all this sale talk the beginning of the end of Netsfans Nirvana? Read on...

Seeing The Future Through Rod's Spectacles

Rod Is God?
Final Tally! It was simple, yet extraordinarily effective: In Rod We Trust. A motto for a web site? No, so much more than just an ordinary motto. A credo for Netsfans to live by. We're thinking, though, that a new season deserves a new slogan. "Do you have it in you, Netsfans?" we asked. Did you ever. Inside, every single submission by one and all - so if you felt like your idea was killer, but was ignored by that ingrate Joe - well, it's all right here. Special thanks go to Champagne for his incredible 32 submissions - it's nice to know you're still alive out there.

Let's consider the contest over as of tomorrow. Now, for the hard part. Take your time and read over all of the various slogans compiled inside. If any of these slogans work for you, let us know.

The Deal On Byron
Writers wanted! In our never-ending quest to do less work (or alternately, to bring other voices besides ours to Netsfans everywhere), we'd like to open up the floor to anyone who wants to submit their thoughts (in a version longer than a Backlash - rambling doesn't count). First up, we have Adam Porter taking us to task for jumping off the Byron Bandwagon the second the media (and NetsNut) told us to...Read on...
