Bucks (3 - 5) - Wednesday, November 15, 2006, 7:30PM EST - Continental Airlines
Arena Redd Hot And Blue Michael Redd, shooter/scorer extraordinare. So why are the Bucks so mediocre? In addition to the red-hot Redd, who went off for 57 points in a loss the other night, they made some smart moves in the off-season, bringing in Charlie Villanueva, Reuben Patterson and Steve Blake to join Andrew Bogut, Bobby Simmons, and Dan Gadzuric. But they haven't been playing any defense, averaging a wretched 105 points against thus far. And they face the Nets on the second game of a road back-to-back (with the first being the suddenly tough Atlanta Hawks, whom they defeat late last night), so the Nets have the perfect bounceback opportunity after their own turkey of a first half against the Sonics on Monday. Shut down Redd, keep Charlie V, Bogut and Gadzuric off the boards, and this one could be easy. If only... Why Should You Watch? Start with the smooth shooting Redd, who is one of the prototypes for outside shooting. Charlie V. has an interesting back story and can play a mean b-ball. Bogut is the big, tall, Aussie, fill in your own joke here. Patterson and his ugly, crazed persona on the court, and Blake's Alfalfa impression are always good for a chuckle. Can Carter outstroke Redd? Will this game break the 220 point mark combined? - Joe Milwaukee Bucks Cheat Sheet The Story From Seattle: From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Ask coach Terry Stotts about the challenges that lie ahead for his team this week and he does not talk about the opposition. He speaks of the Bucks becoming their own worst enemy by consistently falling behind by 20 or more points, only to frantically try to play catch-up later on. In their loss Saturday to Utah at the Bradley Center, the Jazz led by 24 points in the second quarter. "The challenge we have, more so than the opponent, is playing with a sense of urgency and a sense of desperation," Stotts said. "The more we do that, the better we are. It's been obvious that when we get down, and start defending and playing with a sense of urgency, things usually work out pretty well." Desperation? "When you're down 24, you get a little
desperate," Stotts said. Archive | Backlash | Bio | Calendar | Champagne's Blog | Diatribe | Game x Game | History | Home | Joe Netsfan's Blog | Media | Opponents | Players | Playoffs | Search | Specials © 2006 Shawn Belschwender and Michael Kozlowski |
