Atlanta Hawks (27 - 47) - Wednesday, April 4, 2007, 7:30PM EST - Continental Airlines Arena
Hawks vs. Doves
No Joe Johnson, out with a calf injury, nor Speedy Claxton or Josh Childress. An ownership that brings infighting to a new level. And, no playoffs for what seems like the millionth year in a row. These are the Hawks of Atlanta, more like Doves actually, since they've gone gone six games in a row without a win, and no direction for next season from an ownership group so therefore no roadmap. Got it? The Nets just want to make the Hawks a slight speed bump on their way to another victory that inches them closer to the playoffs, but in this season, hell, anything is possible. The Hawks did win here on February 4 on a last second buzzer beater, but hey, don't let that be a motivator or anything...

Why Should You Watch? February 4 ought to be fresh in this underachieving team's mind. Vince Carter needs to return strong from the knee knock, or else this could get ugly yet again. No Joe Johnson to content with doesn't mean you make a superstar out of Tyronn Lue, Nets. Lawrence Frank needs to find a smile somewhere in this season - why not against Atlanta? Old friend Anthony Johnson is here.
- Joe

Atlanta Hawks Cheat Sheet
The Story From Atlanta: Anthony Johnson is one of three veteran point guards on the roster, making for some interesting decisions by Hawks brass this summer. "Each situation I've been in, I've played the best I could play and my team's success normally reflected that," said Johnson, who has averaged 8.1 points, 4.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds in his stint with the Hawks since being acquired in a trade deadline deal with Dallas. "I'm not trying to toot my own horn; that's just the way it's been. But with this being my hometown, I'm just trying to play my role and be a factor in the rotation, and hopefully that's here."

Pain Game: SG Josh Childress (Foot) is out for the season, as is PG Speedy Claxton (knee). SF Josh Smith (back) is probable. SG Joe Johnson (Calf) is out .C Nenad Krstic (knee) are out for the Nets.
