Indiana Pacers (20 - 17) - Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:30PM EST - Continental Airlines Arena
Daytime Emmy
Straight from the gossip pages to your television, this MLK Day matinee is probably eligible for a Daytime Emmy, by the way the story lines have been interwoven around the Nets all season long. The Pacers, this afternoon's challenge, are playing in the tough Central Division, in fourth place despite a 20 - 17 record. The Pacers have their share of drama queens as well, with Jamaal Tinsley, Al Harrington and Stephen "Crazy Train" Jackson providing enough material to line any soap script. Jermaine O'Neal is once again playing like the big dog, but he's slowed a bit by a bum ankle, which he re-aggravated against the Mavs the other night. He's a game time decision. The Nets beat the Pacers back in November, but that was a long, long time ago, and who will defend the interior in this one now that Krstic is gone? Let's hope the Nets keep the acceptance speech short if they win...

Why Should You Watch? Can the Nets shut down O'Neal? That's the main question. Kidd loves the challenge of playing against Jamaal Tinsley. Stephen Jackson - always good for at least one knuckleheaded thing per game, but he can shoot you out of a game or into it. We want to see what Josh Boone, Hassan Adams and Antoine Wright can do - this might be a good time to try them out again. Lastly, don't you want an update on all the latest Page Six gossip surrounding the Nets? This would be a good place to find it.

Indiana Pacers Cheat Sheet
The Story From Indy: From the Indy Star: Here's Rick Carlisle's take on the Pacers 115 - 113 OT loss to the Mavs: "It's disappointing to come out on the short end," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. "We played hard, but the final analysis is that we made too many mistakes, particularly on the defensive end, particularly in terms of blocking out. Our undoing was second-chance opportunities, especially down the stretch. . . . When you play a really good team like that, you have to really pay attention to details. Otherwise they are going to find ways to beat you."

Pain Game: C David Harrison (left shoulder) is out. Jermaine O'Neal (sore left ankle) is probable.
