2006 - 2007
Everything Is Broken
Oh, they had hopes and dreams, these 2006 - 2007 Nets. After a feel-good draft that netted Marcus Williams, Josh Boone, and Hassan Adams, the body count began...Read on...

Joe's Final Grades
Jason Kidd:
A-
How many 34 year old guards keep getting better with age? Kidd did everything he possibly could, and did it with all the distractions you could imagine off the court. Amazing. Misses a straight A only because he couldn't deliver the Nets in the playoffs.

Vince Carter: B-
Tough year to grade VC. Wildly inconsistent, there some nights, totally gone others, he's still the best offensive firepower NJ has. Once again, the playoffs did him in.

Jason Collins: C-
Has no mobility, no offensive game, and he gets hurt a lot. But he was still the starter and he still delivered the intangibles. Only, Netsfans demand more!

Richard Jefferson: B-
Unfortunately, the injury did him in for much of the year. Too often left to watch helplessly before he sat himself down, he earned major points for coming back stronger near the end of the season.

Nenad Krstic: Inc.
Waiting for the big growth spurt, Netsfans only came away disappointed by the December knee injury, knowing full well any chance of advancing deep into the playoffs was long gone. Try again next year, Big Fella.

Bostjan Nachbar: B+
The super-sub convinced us all he could play, and we looked forward to his time on the court. Unfortunately, Boki didn't have enough help, and

Mikki Moore: A
In many ways, the savior of the team this season. His energy and hustle were about the only things keeping Netsfans from going insane early, and it was his feel-good story that kept the Nets in the news when they were ignored by the national media. We like Mikki!

2006 - 2007 Game x Game
A season that seemed to be more difficult and more painful than most, especially given the high expectations at the beginning, the 2006 - 2007 schedule played out in ways large and small. We've got all 82 regular season tipoffs covered, from that manic, high scoring shootout against the Suns to the sting of three straight buzzer-beating defeats right down to the late run to secure the 6th seed in the playoffs, right here...
2007 NBA Playoffs
The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh. Fresh from a late run to grab the sixth seed, the Nets school the young Raptors in the firs round of the playoffs, creating some expectation of big things to come as they faced the offensively challenged Cavs. But alas, the Nets gave them a good run (call it walk) for their money in the offensive ineptitude department, and the cold, hard reality of summer grabbed the Nets. Plus our Pickin' Magicians contest and more! The story of the playoffs is right here...

2006 - 2007 Diatribe
Joe reached an all-time low with a mere eight Diatribes for the season. It wasn't a lack of interest but a lack of time that killed Joe in 2007, but he promises what's there is good stuff...Read it all here.

Joe's Final
G
rades

Clifford Robinson: D-
A wasted season of injury and aging - right before our eyes, unfortunately. Will never live down his transgression in the '05 - '06 playoffs. Thanks for the memories, Cliffe!

Marcus WIlliams: C+
The rookie PG had some fine moments, but mostly found himself sitting with the game on the line. Once again Kidd found himself playing major minutes as Marcus struggled with defense and decision-making. But there is hope for the future.

Josh Boone: B
Missed the early part of the season rehabbing the shoulder, but when he returned and got a chance, we saw glimmers of a productive role player.

Antoine Wright: C-
We were told tales of the work toward vast improvement in the off-season, but it was mostly a myth. Picked it up defensively, late, but still can't make any outside shot consistently.

Eddie House: C
Shoot 'em up and get out of the way. Not the best way to endure yourself to Coach Frank, but Steady Eddie made it work after he returned from his injury.

Hassan Adams:
B
A sparkplug who needed polish, but still deserved more of a role than he was given based on his hustle and defense.

Bernard Robinson: Inc
Came in trade - stayed on bench.

Mile Ilic: Inc.
Whoever decided that Mile was a basketball player was probably not in his right mind at the time. A wasted pick at this point.
