Charlotte Bobcats (11 - 19) - Friday, January 4, 2008, 7:30PM EST - Izod Center
Retirement Village
No rest for the weary is a common NBA theme - playing back-to-backs, traveling multiple time zones and all that. But what excuse do the Charlotte Bobcats have? Yes, they've had some killer injuries to Sean May and Adam Morrison, but now coach Sam Vincent is claiming his stars Gerald Wallace and Jason Richardson might be tired. Even though the Bobcats have played 21 of 30 games thus far on their home court and haven't traveled more than 1 time zone away. Huh? Sounds like Vincent, President Michael Jordan's hand-picked coach, is already on thin ice in Charlotte. Might be the perfect time for them to catch the suddenly catching-on Nets, whose comeback in the fourth quarter on Wednesday in the first game of the New Year was easily the best game of this not-so-young season. But can they retire the young Bobcats quickly, so the old folk Nets can get some rest?
Why
Should You Watch? Now admit it - you got caught up in the magic that was the bench in the second half of Wednesday's game, and you want to see if they have any impact in this one. Does Darrell Armstrong replace Marcus Williams at the back up point? Vince Carter could find himself viewing Emeka Okafor from all angles, so hopefully he's ready. Jason Kidd's starting to crank up his will - so this could be a back-breaking game for the Nets, hopefully early. Richard Jefferson should see some time with Jason Richardson and/or Gerald Wallace, so he'll need to be on his game defensively? Will we see 10 blocks between Okafor and Sean Williams? Can Sean Williams stay on the court long enough to block one?

Charlotte Bobcats Cheat Sheet
The Story From Charlotte: From the Charlotte Observer: Injuries have taken their told on the Bobcats, and Coach Sam Vincent is worried he's burning out his starters after Wednesday's second half disaster against the Bulls: "We're putting a lot of strain on Gerald and Jason to keep the engine going," Vincent said. "Maybe we've got to build in more rest, more film sessions (versus practice). We've got to keep these guys as fresh as possible."
Pain Game: F Sean May (knee), F Adam Morrison (knee) and F Othella Harrington (knee) are all out for the Bobcats. F Antoine Wright (ankle) is questionable. C Nenad Krstic ( knee) is out for the Nets.
