Milwaukee
Bucks (18 - 27) - Tuesday, January 29, 2008, 7:30PM EST - Izod Center
Deer Me
Another team with reasonable expectations for success that's struggling are the Milwaukee Bucks, although not nearly to the tune of nine straight losses. Hell, the Bucks won their last game, while the Nets haven't sniffed a win in nearly three weeks. Michael Redd leads the charge, Yi Jianlian is starting to come on, Andrew Bogut is sometimes stud, sometimes dud, and Mo Williams makes it all run, but there are injuries (Redd and Charlie Villanueva sat it out on Monday against the Wiz, with Redd unlikely to play Wednesday) and there is inconsistency. Sound familiar? The Nets come back home, trying to make something of themselves, knowing the rumors are Kidd wants out and his days are numbered, and wondering where it all went so bad, so quickly...Back home, where there is little comfort, staring at a large hurdle to get themselves righted, sounds about what we're used to the last several years, only sever notches worse. Woe is us.
Why
Should You Watch? Well, we all enjoy watching tragedy unfold, even when it's with our favorite team. Watch this one to see if the wheels continue to fall off, if Jason Kidd gives a half-hearted effort or goes full bore, and if the Nets can capitalize on a Redd-less Bucks squad to get a win. Vince Carter has taken a ton of shots in the last week - can he redeem himself even a bit? How about Lawrence Frank, who has been fired by just about every Netsfan for his coaching of late? It's going to be an ongoing soap opera for a while, folks...

Journal Sentinel:
So how is Chinese rookie Yi Jianlian doing? Here is Bucks coach Larry Krystkowiak: "I think a week ago, whether or not he succeeded was based on how many points he scored," Krystkowiak said. "He wasn't rebounding the ball very well, and wasn't doing the greatest job defending, and some of that was his matchups.
"So if he's not making shots... I told him in practice a couple days ago, if you're not getting enough touches, he needs to start assuming that every shot we take is going to be missed. And there's your opportunity. The first play of the game, he went in and tip-dunked a rebound. So there's a lot of things besides scoring points, and I think he's starting to figure that out."
Pain Game: F David Noel (wrist), G Desmond Mason (thumb) and G Michael Redd (knee) are listed as out. F Charlie Villanueva (back) is listed as questionable. For the Nets, C Nenad Krstic (knee) remains out but could be activated shortly.
