Bucks (22 - 35) - Thursday, February 28, 2008, 7:30PM EST - Izod Center
Royally Bucked
Michael Redd and the Bucks are 3 - 1 since the All Star break, having taken down Detroit, Denver and Cleveland at home, the last of which was a last-second Redd jumper to beat LeBron. Now that's royally Bucked, huh? What does that mean for the Nets? Well, this is supposed to be the easy game of the week, with the Magic already having defeated the Nets and the Spurs coming to the Izod on Sunday (and let's not even talk about next week). Devin Harris may return to do battle with Mo Williams, while Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson surely will see a lot of Yi Jinlian and Charlie Villanueva. Harris won't start but he'll get a look for certain. Can the Nets get a win (sensing a win, loss, win, loss pattern upcoming at best) at home against a fellow charity case, or is it the beginning of the gelling process and therefore watch out for the defensive beheadings early and often? Only the King of the NBA knows for sure (and he ain't tellin').
Why
Should You Watch? Devin Harris' first game as a Net, and how Lawrence Frank uses him. Sean Williams doensn't appear to be the same player since Kidd left town - could Harris help give him a spark? Vince and RJ have turned it up some - now they need to get it done on both ends of the floor. Who shuts down Michael Redd with Kidd gone? Trenton Hassell? Darrell Armstrong? We're sure we don't like the sound of that. Can the Nets start to settle on a rotation now that Harris is back (and we're pretty sure Keith Van Horn's a no-show)? This is Michael Redd's team, and the Nets need to be sure to show up in his face often and early - January's win against the Bucks came without Redd in the lineup, and it was still closer than it needed to be. The Nets need wins, period. Let's see if they show the proper amount of desperation.

The Story From Milwaukee: From
the Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel:
There haven’t been all that many memorable moments in the Milwaukee Bucks’ season so far, but Michael Redd’s last-second, game-winning, three-pointer Tuesday night against Cleveland would certainly qualify.
“Seeing that ball go through the net was one of the highlights of the season,” said coach Larry Krystkowiak.
Redd sank his three-pointer from well beyond the arc just before time expired to give the Bucks a 105-102 victory at the Bradley Center. Prior to that, LeBron James had tied the game with a layup with 5.9 seconds left.
Cleveland coach Mike Brown said afterward that the key to Redd’s shot was that, after James’ layup, the Bucks got the ball inbounds to Redd and just pushed it down the court.
Krystkowiak agreed.
“The thing that was great was that he just attacked,” said Krystkowiak. “I have to be honest, I thought he had a look earlier, just before he shot. I thought he was wide open and he was going to shoot and then he pump-faked Wally (Szczerbiak) up in the air and I thought when he pump-faked he actually created a harder shot for himself. But far be it for me to judge what he did on that play.
“The understanding was to get the ball in quick and go. When the ball goes in (with 5.9 seconds left), your best opportunity is to go. For us to stop and have to get to certain spots and set up, I think you’re probably taking more of a risk. In 5 seconds, it’s really hard to get a better shot than we did. There was no coaching on that one.”
Pain Game: F David Noel (wrist) and G Ramon Sessions (hand) are listed as out. F Awvee Storey (flu) is listed as questionable. For the Nets, C Nenad Krstic (knee) remains out but could be activated shortly.
