Miami Heat (1 - 8) - Saturday, November 17, 2007, 7:30PM EST - Izod Center
Battle Of Evermore
Yes - it's the battle of scoring supremacy, coming live from the Izod Center in downtown East Rutherford, NJ. The Nets and the Heat are finding themselves, let's just say, challenged, offensively, with the Nets next to last and the Heat last in the NBA in scoring (that's 85.6 and 85.4 points per game, if you're keeping score). Miami is 1 - 8 but just got Dwyane Wade back in the lineup last night in the last second loss to the Celtics, while the Nets will once again be missing Vince Carter and likely any shred of a decent offensive performance (oh by the way, the Nets are now tied with the Bulls for the worst shooting percentage in the NBA at 38.8%). Let's look forward to the defense (!) and try to put a positive spin on this one. Well, I'm thinking that won't be possible unless a Net suddenly reverses field, breaks form, and makes some shots, but hey, we Netsfans can hope (for Carter's return, anyway). Should be a thriller in the last game of the homestand and the only back-to-back games at home this season...

Why Should You Watch? Oh, the possibilities. The potential for Dwyane Wade to announce himself back on the scene with a statement game here. Watching Shaq go off as the Nets go through four or five pivotmen in an effort to stop him. See if J. Kidd can run circles around Jason Williams, or vice versa. The defensive intensity of Alonzo Mourning, the player Netsfans most like to hate. Can anyone step up and take a leadership role on the offense? Admit it, you love to watch the veins pop out of Riley's neck when a foul is called against Shaq. Perhaps we'll see newfound creativity out of L. Frank's offense.

Miami Heat Cheat Sheet
The Story From Miami: From the Sun-Sentinel: Ah, the return of Dwyane Wade to the Heat lineup has already paid dividends in a close loss to the Celtics last night. Here's Riles' take: "He gives us confidence," Riley said after the guard's second appearance of the season. "He breathes life into us, like CPR."

Pain Game: G Smush Parker (ankle) is listed as questionable. G Marcus Williams (foot), G Vince Carter (ankle) and G Darrell Armstrong (thigh) are out for the Nets.
