Team Turmoil? Which One?
Anyone who even remotely follows NBA basketball have an understanding of the Knicks in 2007 - 2008? Yes, we don't either. Whether it's the petulance (and strange behavior) of the world's greatest point guard, Stephon Marbury, the disappearance of big man Eddie Curry, the lack of anything resembling cohesion from coach Isiah Thomas' roster, the total disregard for accountability, the bad, bad losses, or the remarkable wins (this team beat the Pistons the other night, badly), there is no getting over Team Dolan's march through the nightly dance of the boo-birds. The Nets, though, understand completely that a caged animal eventually becomes dangerous, having already lost twice to the Knickies (after routinely throwing them a beat-down during the Kidd era), and with the last home game before a long, strange West Coast trip, the Nets need a win like a 10 year old needs something to brag about. They haven't exactly been without turmoil themselves, now have they? What's it going to be, Nets? Another insipid performance at the Izod? Or an awe-inspiring sprint to the plane that awaits the Left Coast? There is absolutely no way to handicap it when these two teams gather...

Why Should You Watch? The Knicks are in town! The Knicks are in town - don't you want to find out whether that's good news or bad? The Big Three were the Big Bomb on Monday night, so is there any redemption coming (or at least some anger to take out on the Knicks)? Isiah's such a train wreck, don't you want to see what the circus brings? Boone and Sean Williams vs. Curry and Randolph - either laughable or inspiring. Again, we have no idea which one we get...Lawrence Frank might go off the deep end if the same Nets squad that played Monday night shows up again. Look for some changes nonetheless. We want Jamaal Magloire!

New York Knicks Cheat Sheet
The Story From NYC: From the Star Ledger: Ah, the mystery that is Starbury: "At about noon yesterday Marbury predicted that a visit to a foot specialist later in the day would reveal bone spurs, and if his amateur diagnosis was accurate, he would immediately have surgery that could sideline him for the rest of the season.

The complete diagnosis wound up being put off until Thursday, when Marbury will have an MRI on his sore left ankle. He definitely won't play tonight against the Wizards or tomorrow against the Nets.

After his visit to William Hamilton, who performed the previous operations on Marbury's spurs, it was determined that Marbury had inflammation from a chronically fractured bone spur, according to the Knicks.

The 30-year-old guard will wear a protective boot for the next three days and then have the MRI to see if the inflammation goes down.

But based on experience (he had surgeries after the 2002 and 2003 seasons and was out all of those summers), he seemed convinced the spurs were there.

"If the doctor says I have bone spurs in my ankle and I have to have surgery, I'm going to get it," he said. "I'm going to get it taken care of. I'm not going to wait or hesitate because that's my career."

Read the rest of the article, it's fascinating...

Pain Game: C Jerome James (knee) is out. G Stephon Marbury (ankle) is questionable. C Nenad Krstic (knee) is out for the Nets. Both G Antoine Wright (ankle) and G Darrell Armstrong (Achilles) are questionable for this one after getting banged up on Monday.
