Detroit Pistons (10 - 5) - Sunday, December 2, 2007, 6:00PM EST - Palace At Auburn Hills
Firing On All Cylinders
So says Pistons coach Flip Saunders of his team, after beating the Bucks by 26 last night. And contrary to the past, perhaps, they're doing it with offense, as the Pistons are averaging nearly 100 points per game thus far (the Nets of course don't quite make it to 90). The usual folks - Chauncey, Tayshaun, Rip, Rasheed - they're all getting it done, but the younger crowd, such as Jason Maxiell and Rodney Stuckey (who's out with a hand injury), are contributing as well. Perhaps a pattern the Nets could follow, as the Pistons always seem to get it done with the same cast of characters, while the Nets try but can't seem to stay consistent. Should be yet another good measuring stick for the Nets, as they try to even out the ups and downs of their game and look for once to finally get themselves enough distance to coast to a win. No, we don't expect that to be the case tonight...
Why
Should You Watch? This is a much better team than the Nets have faced since winning 4 of 5, more like the Jazz than the Sonics or Sixers. Let's see what the Kidd vs. Billups matchup brings tonight, it's always a battle and both are playing at a high level despite advancing age. RJ and VC need big games against Tayshaun and Rip, or else the Nets will be cooked. Can Sean Williams muscle his way inside, block shots, grab rebounds and get some points against that tough front line of Wallace, McDyess, and Maxiell? The Nets are going to need some major bench contribution at some point, since this is game 2 of the 4 in 5 deal. Lawrence Frank needs to find a way to keep the Nets from slipping off the cliff offensively in the first half/second quarter - this ain't the Sixers they're playing...The Nets were awful against the Pistons last year.

Detroit Pistons Cheat Sheet
The Story From the Motor City: From
the Detroit Free Press: "Right now we are operating on all cylinders and playing pretty efficiently on offense," coach Flip Saunders said after the Pistons' 117-91 blowout win over the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center. "To score as many points as we did and to play as effectively as we did considering we started out kind of like the weather in the first six minutes says a lot about this team."
Pain Game: F Chris Webber and G Rip Hamilton are both questionable with the flu. C Nenad Krstic (knee) is out for the season.
