Six Degrees Of Separation
The Sixers are the first road game on the schedule in 2007, one of those classic trap games for the Nets with the exception of the fact that NJ got pasted by 37 last night. The Sixers are expected to bring up the rear in the Atlantic, but they beat a beatable Bulls team last night behind exceptional performances from Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller and Sam Dalembert, so perhaps anything goes tonight. What we do know is this: the Nets starters hardly played last night, while the starting five for the Sixers went deep into the game, so the advantage may very well be for the Nets. No such thing as a must-win game this early in the year, but face it - the Nets need to bounce back convincingly to stop the whispers from starting, and start looking for separation from the lower-run teams in the East.

Why Should You Watch? The bounce-back effect at play - you would expect the Nets to be angry and to take it out on someone. Jason Kidd and Vince Carter need to have good games, not for any reason other than they haven't been stellar yet this year. Can Andre Iguodala get the best of Richard Jefferson? Luol Deng couldn't, but Iguodala got the best of him last night as well. Nets - Sixers is always fun to watch, let's see if the deeper Nets can make a better showing than they did last night. And maybe we'll see more of Sean Williams, who was fun to watch at times in his first NBA appearance.

Philadelphia 76'ers Cheat Sheet
The Story From Illa-del: Quote of the Day: "It's real nice to hear booing in an arena besides ours." -- Sixers Guard Willie Green, after hearing Bulls' fans boo and chant "Ko-be, Ko-be" late in the Sixers' 96-85 road victory over Chicago.

From CBS Sportsline: The Philadelphia 76ers and Iguodala failed to reach a contract extension by the Oct. 31 deadline that could have extended the rising star up to five more seasons after this one. Now, Iguodala and the Sixers must wait until July 1 to reopen negotiations, at which point Philadelphia will hold a right of first refusal on any offer from another team.

"We were close, but we could not close the final gap," Sixers president Billy King said in an e-mail shortly after the midnight deadline. "I felt we had great discussions on Sunday in person. Unfortunately, we could not get it done."

Pain Game: F Louis Amundson (hip) is out for the Sixers. G Marcus Williams (foot) is out for the Nets.
