Six Shift
Playing in their fourth (yes, fourth) game in the time span since the Nets last played (that was Tuesday, if you can remember that far back), the Philadelphia 76'ers are hoping to have enough gas left in the tank to defeat the crash-and-burn-at home New Jersey Nets tonight. When we last left the Sixers back on November 3, they were outdone by a triple double by Jason Kidd and a fine game by Richard Jefferson, and since that time they have continued to struggle. Andre Iguodala missed his last 16 (!) shots last night, but they still had enough tread on the tires to beat the Wiz by a point, their second win in three games. We know already that Vince Carter will be coming off the bench to try and stop the second quarter woes the Nets seem to face, but it's really a chance for NJ to get a much, much needed win at home before hitting the road to face the always-tough Detroit Pistons tomorrow night. Hopefully, we see a well-played game in which no one hits the wall, and the checkered flag ultimately goes down for NJ.

Why Should You Watch? Let's all watch the Nets' first quarter effort without Carter in the starting lineup, and see if they just push the bad second quarter into the first quarter. Richard Jefferson vs. Iguodala is always interesting, and RJ got the best of the new AI back in November. The Sixers like to have Sam Dalembert roam around and block shots, but now the Nets have Sean Williams, who could do the same thing (if L. Frank gives him some playing time). There isn't much else to like about the Sixers, from the Ashton Kutcher lookalike Kyle Korver all the way down to their weak bench, but PG Andre Miller always plays well against Jason Kidd. Will the Nets come out with energy from the start after the long layoff, or will there be yet another hangover?

Philadelphia 76'ers Cheat Sheet
The Story From Illa-del: From the Philadelphia Daily Newson the struggles of Sixer G Andre Iguodala, who missed his last 16 shots in the Sixers win against the Wiz last night: "Despite body language that sometimes suggested otherwise, Iguodala stayed poised and confident, focusing on aspects other than scoring. He finished eight points, but had a game-high 12 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks.

Cheeks tried to deflect attention from Iguodala's struggles, saying: "I've got to do a better job of getting him touches down low, getting him down on the block. But he's not a one-dimensional player. He's not a player that can just score. Certainly, we want him to score, we need him to score, but he can do other things."

"The first three [shots] felt good," Iguodala said. "After that, I changed. I don't know why. Something like that, I really don't even care. We got the win. My teammates did a great job of keeping me confident, telling me to keep attacking. We won, and that overweighs everything else."

Pain Game: The Sixers are reporting no injuries. G Marcus Williams (foot) and G Darrell Armstrong (thigh) are out for the Nets. We also know that C Nenad Krstic (knee) will not play until he gets himself in game shape.
